I found out about this online training program through an email from Anaphylaxis Canada this morning, and thought it would be a good tool to pass onto our Public Health Nurse who conducts the training at my children's school.

I took a quick look but didn't find info on cost and length of program, so have sent an email to ask. Will post back when I find out.

Thought others would also want to know about this.

OK, so I got this response:

There is no charge for our US AllergyReady.com service. The course is free, and can be accessed by the free registration on the website. (You must register in order to access the course, but there is no charge.) The course is approximately 45mins in duration.

We are working with Anaphylaxis Canada to try to bring a 'BC-specific' version to your province. I've cc'ed Laura Bantock from Anaphylaxis Canada to let her know of your interest.

We previously launched a version in Alberta with province-specific content.

Thanks again for your interest in our course. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely

Dr Anthony Levinson, MD

Then I spoke to Laura Bantock who said that the course is designed for one person in front a computer, not for someone to present to a group of people. She also said that the course currently has US content, and she doesn't recommend for Canadians to use it as of yet, apart from the Alberta specific version. She said that Anaphylaxis Canada is working on creating a BC specific version with the Ministry of Education here, and also a presentation that could be used in school/group training.
