I am going to be traveling this summer and plan to get some translation cards. I will purchase some with the picture and some words printed on the back. I also plan to buy some in English to possibly use when I am out to dinner at home. Has anyone purchased any of these types of cards? I was thinking of ordering from this company www.selectwisely.com I like the clear bold pictures and was thinking this was a good idea to carry with me. Mostly in other countries when language is an issue.

So I have now used my allergy card a few times. I have 1 card with all my allergies on it. It has the pictures of all pn, tn, coconut and shellfish on it. It lists the different types of shellfish, nuts..... It is also strongly worded by saying any oils, toppings, baked goods, candy, dressing, or trace amounts of any of my allergy items "I would need immediate medical attention"
I am liking it. Less explaining for me and it really gets the point across clearly. This evening as I handed it to the waitress she seemed to like how clear it was she took it back to the kitchen and showed it to the chef. Nothing lost in translation :thumbsup
I do highly reccomend the cards.

Great to hear, Paige! Chef cards are well received everywhere we go, and I love the idea of pictures on them for language barriers - great idea!

They will also print them in different languages. I decided to only get them in English. I did travel with them but with the pictures and someone who was traveling with me who spoke the language I decided not to print them in anything other than English. I also printed a card that says I have a penicillin allergy. Just to keep in my wallet.
