Which restaurants do you feel 100% safe in? Almost every restaurant I'm looking at has some sort of disclaimer stating that they can't guarantee an allergen safe meal...

According to those disclaimers so far Boston Pizza, Kelseys, Applebees, Swiss Chalet, Jack Astors, Lonestar and Eastside Marios are out of the question.

Where do you actually feel safe eating?

Add the Keg to that list now as well... everywhere is saying they can't guarantee.

For our allergies, I like Japanese restaurants. I like Made in Japan: Teriyaki Experience which is a franchise found at many food courts. They cook the food on a hot griddle in front of you. They do not use any of dd's allergens and the sauces are up front in bottles with labels.

Note: This is NOT a safe place for anyone avoiding shellfish or soy! Not sure about sesame seed.

Just a restaurant word of warning. I have never personally gone to "Five Guys burgers and fries" but my friend told me that they cook their fries in peanut oil. They seem to have a good web site at www.fiveguys.ca it has all the information under the FAQ section.

I have always felt quite safe at Moxies in Edmonton. This past weekend I was in Calgary and went to a Moxies. After I placed my order and told the waitress of my allergies, as usual a manager/ kitchen manager came out to talk to me to be clear on my allergies and ask if the dressing on the salad would be fine as it has anchovies (note shellfish allergy). My friends who were with me were very surprised that this happened. I told them I have found this common place at moxies. The one friend who was with me has two children with pn and egg ++ allergy.
Yaa for Moxies :thumbsup

We are quite fond of Moxies as well. They have gone so far as to deny me a topping on my salad because it was next to a container of nuts and they were concerned about cross-contamination. There's a local Italian place (Nello's) that is very accommodating as well. We don't eat out much because it is so difficult to find safe places to eat.
