Just watched the Doctors (Friday) and they were talking about 13 ways to slim down for summer. Not impressed with one suggestion. When you are in a restaurant and you really don't want all that butter on you veggies just say you are "Allergic" to the butter, that is the only way to ensure you wont get it on your meal. How about tell the truth! I want to be taken at my word when I go to a restaurant and explain my true "allergies". If they think people are just saying "allergic" because of preference they will take less care on the meals and those of us with allergies will suffer. :verymad

Big pet peeve of mine too :x All those shows seem to only focus on anti-aging, weight loss - such superficial crap! The Doctors isn't as bad as Dr. Oz though, he's gone waaaayyyy off the deep end. (he has admitted in an interview recently that most of the content of the show is "fluff" and he doesn't actually believe any of the supplements he talks about really work..)

People with corn allergy will always request NO butter because most butter will contain some form of corn (lactic acid or a culture grown on corn). This "fad" can cause disbelief for those of us who "are" allergic to certain kinds of butter because of what is added to it. I can't believe people would fake an allergy just to watch their calories!
