Very well. I am now happily eating the sorted batch. At some doore, some people asked if there were any allergies and we said "Yes no Mars bars please" (liquid egg white) and they looked at us kind of funnily when we said give us all the nut ones!

The school was great. For all the food events they have, today they just did a costume parade and requested no treats due to allergies.

R went out with 2 other girls and one of them had to go with her mom to show off her costume. I asked what candy she liked and she said she liked it all so...

While she was off, R and the other girl traded all the Doritos (milk) for safe candy. Then they traded favourite chocolate bars for safe candy. Eventually, the girl had no safe candy left but then I pointed out that she could trade candy she didn't like for the missing girls safe candy and then trade the safe candy with R for more favourites. This was a new concept for them...

After that, the girl packed up all the stuff she liked and traded the rest for stuff she liked from the missing girl (I made sure that she still had a healthy mix of chocolate bars, chips and other goodies).

All in all, both R and her friend had a fabulous haul! Interestingly, R boviously see's the Great Pumpkin as the collector of all unsafe treats because someone in the neighbourhood handed out loose unwrapped candy and another gave out homebaked cookies. All of those (from all children) were tossed into the offering bowl.

The Great Pumpkin gave her a cotton candy machine and she was blown away!

The oddest treat? Someone gave frozen Mr. Freezies, who does that?

Sounds like a good night for your DD,

We carefully went through my kids' stash, and took out everything they couldn't eat. I had bought some safe lollipops, chips, and Vermont nut free goodies for them to trade. DH takes all the nut stuff to work with him and leaves it in the staff room. It's usually gone by the end of the day. Now they're allowed two pieces of candy/chips etc per night after dinner. It might last until next Halloween!
