Running late at work the other night, I took the easy way out and ordered Swiss Chalet take-out for dinner so that I didn't then have to cook before heading out to the various activities for the kids. I called the central call centre (toll free number) which then routes the order after it is placed to the appropriate restaurant where the order is to be picked up. As always, I was very clear with the my son's order to indicate that this was for a child with a peanut allergy. The order taker put a note on the order for the kitchen.

About 2 minutes after hanging up from the call centre, I had a call from the local restaurant (where I was to pick up my order) to confirm if it was only a peanut allergy, or if it was a peanut and tree nut allergy, as there were tree nuts in the kitchen. I confirmed that it was indeed only a peanut allergy.

I've ordered from Swiss Chalet (and this location) before but this is the first time I've had some one from the kitchen to confirm the allergy information attached to the order.

I'm not sure if it is a change in policy, or just a very on-the-ball employee, but it was a very pleasant surpise!
