They used to use walnut litter, which was awful because I could never go into the cat rooms. They recently switched to sawdust pellet litter. Hurrah! I can visit the cats now.

Considering this is also my place of work, this is a HUGE deal to me. I'm going to send a thank you note to the CEO and head veterinarian for making the switch. (They made the switch for a few reasons, not just allergies, so I want to make sure they know how much I appreciate it.)

That's awesome! As a non cat owner, I had no idea kitty litter was made of walnuts! I learn something new every day.

I didn't realise it either until I started working there and had reactions in the cat rooms. The bird food and guinea pig treats they were using in the classroom had nuts in them too, but they got rid of those within a day of me starting working there. (I work in the classroom.)
