The following alert from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, (CFIA), pertains to undeclared "milk ingredients " in "President's Choice Organics Chocolate Digestive Biscuits".


Don't you just hate undeclared ingredients!!!!

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Briska Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the EnglishB brand "Choc. \ Pa.Cook." (chocolate pecan cookie). The affected product contains milk protein which is not declared on the label.

The product, EnglishB brand "Choc. \ Pa. Cook."(chocolate pecan cookie), is sold in 42 g packages bearing a UPC beginning with 212960 XXXXX. The affected product is packaged at the retailer premises and other sizes may have been packaged. This product has been distributed in Quebec in Metro chain stores and in Richelieu chain stores.

There has been no reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

Briska Inc. is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

The following Compliments brand cookie doughs, are affected by this alert:

1. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, bearing the UPC 0 55742 36477 4
2. Hazelnut Amaretto Cookie Dough, bearing the UPC 0 55742 36600 6
3. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough, bearing the UPC 0 55742 36478 1

The affected products are sold in 510 g packages and all codes are affected. These products have been distributed through Sobeys stores across Canada.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of this these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

English Bay Batter Inc., Delta, British Columbia is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

The 600 g package bears the UPC 8 888240 000170 and the Best Before End 18102005/18102007. The individual 20 g sachet bears the UPC 8 888240 000309 and the Production Date code 18/10/2005 and Expiry Date 18/10/2007. This product is known to have been distributed in British Columbia and may have been distributed nationally.
