I am looking at starting a support group in my area of West Lorne, Ontario. Which is between London and Chatham. I was looking for one to join but the closest was KIchener. If there is anyone that would be interested in joining or helping with running and setting it up, I would love to hear from you.

Amanda, I'm too far away to help out, but you can try to get some help from Anaphylaxis Canada.

See http://www.anaphylaxis.ca/content/programs/services_support.asp for more details.

Thanks I have been in contact with Anaphylaxis Canada regarding starting a support group, and they suggested that I first do some advertising then get back to them.

Some ideas for advertising (if you want them):
- poster up at daycares, nursery schools, public schools, community centres, health food stores, and even on the side of Canada Post mailboxes (if you have them in your area)
- poster up at local allergist's office, doctor's office, medical clinic
- poster or flyer at local hospital Emergency (if they will let you).

It can be one of those "if you build it they will come" things. You have to get the word out, get a few members, and then it can take on a life of its own.

If you want a Word file of our local support group poster to modify, let me know by PM. I'm happy to share.

K.
