I fully support your position and cannot believe that others would be so insensitive as to criticize you for an allergy you cannot help. I also have trouble believing that airlines still even serve nuts, especially peanuts, with all the publicity this allergy has received and the policy that many schools now have banning peanuts as snacks or in lunches. It would be so simple for airlines to find some other packaged product (like pretzels) that no one is allergic to.

I came across your story looking for help in dealing with a serious allergy I have to fragrances and concern over a long flight I need to make soon. I am not encouraged that the flight attendants will be helpful if I ask to move my seat because someone nearby is wearing a lot of perfume.

Anyway, I understand how distressing it is to be denied the right to clean, non-contaminated air when the solution really does not hurt or deprive others.

I hope you are treated better in the future.
